Havent' had much to post lately. An issue has been in my mind for the past month or so and it's not something that's blog material for me atm or in the near future. Now that it's coming to a closure of sorts, I've more time to think about the usual stuff that haunts my brain eheh.

I watched Munich the other day. Now that is a film that I doubt would get into the cinemas over here. Even Crash didn't get through and that was just a film about racism but with an end that pretty much says that everyone, even bigots have a good heart in them. Now Munich is pretty much a film about Israelis assassinating Palestines. Based upon our country's stance on Israel and the fact that it has pretty big racist message, the potential that it would be banned by FINAS is much more than Crash. It's really sad how people can hate each other just based on their religion and race. When I think about it though, would I feel any different if I were put into their shoes? Would I be the one who says the violence must stop or would I join in the masses who cry for vengeance for their dead?

When I read my books, there are all kinds of violence in them. Genocide, wholesale slaughters, wars, any kind of violence and atrocity imaginable and it's pretty much there. I don't really feel that bad when reading them because they're all makebelieve characters. I do feel sad sometimes when a character I come to like was killed off but that's that. When I watch something like Munich however, with characters based on people in the real world and they commit stuff like that, it really saddens me. Guess it's one of the reason that I don't like reading fiction based on the real world. I just don't like any country be put into the "bad guy" role and be made to carry out the acts needed to be in the role.

I can't deny that it's really happening out there though. People will always hate and with that comes all the violence. I'm thankful that Malaysia is not like that. Sure, we have our differences but in the end we get along pretty well.
