Being the child of docs, I've been raised to not be squemish. When I was a kid, my dad used to talk about his autopsies during dinner(anyone else listens to how dead bodies getting their throats sliced to check on the tongue during dinner?), there was also the time when my dad left me and my brother outside the morgue at nite when he had to check on something, I also used to help my dad circumcise other kids, oh and I also think I had a sneak peak at an autopsy video of one of Mona Fendi's victims that my dad brought back.
Now though, after watching the whole season of House MD, I'm pretty glad that I didn't really try to get into medicine. Oh get me a dead thing to touch and I'd not be squemish at all, but show me someone whose hurting and I'd pretty much feel the pain. Empathy? A lil bit I suppose, most of the time I just try not to care, it hurts less that way. Other points are pretty much the obvious; I'm too lazy, medicine is too much work with too little payback,so on and so forth. Yup, I made the right decision alright.
