Dirt on the hands
Every single thing that we do are like dirt on our hands. It may not show, but it's there. At the end of the day, when the hands are washed and dried up, was getting our hands dirty worth the while? or were they just stains that needed to be washed out as soon as possible and be forgotten?

I went for an interview yesterday for an IT Helpdesk Specialist at IBM regional contact center. I think I pretty much aced it. Well, I do good in interviews, it's just getting the interviews is such a pain sometimes. During the interview, the interviewer told me that they're gonna call in a few other candidates and once that is done it would be about a couple more weeks before I would get a confirmation whether I got the job or not... 20 minutes after I walked out of the room I got a call from the recruitment agency asking me if I want to sign a contract. Figures the job I landed uses the 2 skills I've had since even before I went to uni, computers and English.

One of the questions the interviewer asked me sorta made me chuckle after the interview. It sorta went like this:
Head Tech IT Guy : So I have this complete system, then I take out it's RAM. What would the monitor show when it boots up?
Me : hmm... I think there's a beep. Don't remember what shows on the screen.
Head Tech IT Guy : Well, the right answer would be that nothing would show up on the screen. It would be completely blank.
Me : Is there a beep?
Head Tech IT Guy : Yes... there is a beep.

It's not funny or anything but it made me chuckle.

Today I told my boss I'm resigning. He then asked me how many annual leaves do I still have. I actually have 7 left. Then he proceded to tell me that I won't be able to take leave once I posted my 1 month notice of resigning.... So he told me to finish them up before I post it. My partner here at the office won't let me take leave within this month because there are laptops coming in and he would need help. He told me that what my boss is telling me about taking the leave during the notice is totally unfair and is not a written rule or something. My boss figures that I would take 2 days this week, then 2 more the next etc2 til my leaves are finish.... As if I wanna stay here for 2 months just to finish up my leaves. I'd rather forfeit them. In the end I discussed with my colleague and we made a deal with our boss to let me post my notice of resignation on the 30th and I would only be able to take leave in April, since he needs my help this month but I can do it during the notice period. So I now have 7 days of leave to burn!

I'm sorta looking forward to the new job. It pays better, is very much closer to where I'm living and I would actually get to do work instead of staring at the monitor reading ebooks. Oh wait, and no more bloody jams in the morning.YARR!
