Dirt on the hands
Every single thing that we do are like dirt on our hands. It may not show, but it's there. At the end of the day, when the hands are washed and dried up, was getting our hands dirty worth the while? or were they just stains that needed to be washed out as soon as possible and be forgotten?

Nutty wheelers
I didn't think that I could get much darker just by standing under the sun for a few hours, but today I was proven wrong :P All in all, it was a pretty tiring day for me. I was finally able to fall asleep around 3am last nite, even though I knew that I had to wake up early coz I put my name to join G2C's trip to some car event. If I didn't put my name on I'd prolly just cancel going but it was a fun day even though I felt like lying on the tar and sleep most of the time.

The car event was a demonstration by a professional rally driver plus a time attack event hosted by the Johor Satria GTI club. Most of the contestants joined in on the time attack thingy just to be able to drive like a nut and be applauded for it i think :P Hmm let's see, there was the guy who hit the divider and burst his windshield water tank, then there's the guy whose CDs went flying out his car windows when he was skidding all over the place, and also there was the guy whose front light popped out while he was driving. Amazing or pretty hilarious feats if you ask me :P

Most of the day though, I was either crying from all the stingy dust in my eyes while sweating from the heating and my own lack of sleep or walking about socializing with the other Gen2Club members. I didn't put my name on the time attack thingy, although at some point I did regret it a bit, just to be able to go crazy for a few moments :P

After the road show, me and my buds went to the newly opened Tebrau City Jusco. It was a big hassle if you ask me, not the place, but the crowd. People were parking all over the place, from the roads outside to the flyovers and dividers. They even called in RELA people to help with the traffic. Thankfully, as soon as I got into the parking space I found a spot. As my friend put it "berkat nak cari surau" as it was 3.30pm and we hadn't prayed yet eheh.

So in the end, I ended up exhausted with itchy skin from almost being sun-burned and wishing I didn't bail on dinner coz I was just too damn tired to drive hahah.

what age?
close nuff, I'm gonna be 24 this year.

You Are 24 Years Old

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.

13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.

20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!

40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

Eidul Mubarak ~
Happy Eid to all Muslims =) I had a pretty ok day to be sure. We had prayers at the local mosque before going to my gran's for some raya breakfast. Mmmm.... nothing like rendang itik with lemang on a nice Eid morning heheh. So anyways, just right as we started on the road towards KL I almost ran over a cat. I heard a popping sound just as I emergency braked, I thought it was the cat's head popping while my dad thought it was the cat hitting the car's bumper. Luckily though it was neither and the cat ran off mischieviously back into whatever drain it had been lurking before heheh. Talk about pessimistic views =P

I don't really like long distance driving. The longest drive that I've made was from Melaka to JB and that's only like an hour and a half to 2 hours drive. The reason that I don't like it is actually because there is a speed limit. The hassle of constantly looking at the speedometer to make sure that I haven't gone above it is sorta tiring to me. I miss the times when I just got the car and couldn't care less what speed I was driving at, much to the dismay of my mom when she got the speeding ticket though huhuh. Now, I'm more or less a more law abiding driver(not all the time though). No more speeds above 130kmph for me. Noooo sir.

I actually get very alert when I drive at high speeds. The need for optimal concentration makes me calm and at these times I find that I could think more clearly on stuff. It's something that I do less of now though. My mom gets worried everytime I drive fast although it is a temptation when you know the car you're in can move much much faster.

Oh yeah, that reminds me. I just serviced my car last weekend. Everytime I send my car to the service centre that I was recently introduced to, I'm very much satisfied. The people and service there is very nice, I had a water-logged rear lamp that has been that way for months which Proton wouldn't let me claim warranty because it was caused by me being rear-ended, the place however offered to claim it for me with no hassle at all. That was the case also with my fog lamps, it was clear as day that the lamp was broken by a passing stone or something but the boss there didn't mind at all. Although they do put in some things that usually I don't do for a regular service, like the oil treatment and such, all in all it's not bad at all. (there is the matter of time though, usual servicing is like 1 hour, last weekend however, I spent a total of 5 and a half hours for everything to be done. not counting the extra hour to go to batu pahat and back to the highway again hahah! -_-)

clay-like minds
Everyone wants to be considered as wise. Wisdom hoever is not easily earned. I think that most people would agree that usually wisdom comes from experience and age. Am I wise? I certainly am not. Any wisdom I have is gained from the same source as most people from my generation got it, television, music and books.

I admit, I've been exposed to the myriads of influence that the so called western-culture form a very young age. The fantasy books that I started reading when I was 9 years old features various groups of gods warring with each other and people from each of their gods defending their faith through horrendous acts and so on and so forth. Can you imagine what effect this could have had on an impressionable 9 year old? Well, luckily for me, around that time also that I was so very into the stories of the Prophets and the Sahabats.

Speaking of the effect of television on impressionable minds, I watched the Exorcism of Emily Rose the other day. It is slightly scarier than the usual horror flicks I suppose although the driving force of the movie was more of a spiritual nature. It could be considered as a normal exorcist-genre flick if not for 5 words at the start of the show "Based on a true story". With just these 5 words, in my opinion, the story was less of a horror flick, more of a religious one. It didn't leave much imprint on me but I wonder how it would be on more a impressionable audience, like teenagers for instance.

One of my favourite series is Six Feet Under. IMO it's one of the most twisted tv series ever, not because of the characters, plots or actions, but in the way that it blatantly pictures real life and the reality that comes with it. For people who are unfamiliar with the series, the story revolves around a family that lives in a funeral home and growing up in a house where people bring their dead to, they end up constantly keeping their feelings in check, at first to not impose on the grieving familes but later on, carries forward to their own relationships between each other and others. The story is a bit disturbing with the gay-kissing scenes and such so it's not really a recommendation for the easily disturbed.
